How to Set Up Proxy on uTorrent

In this tutorial we will show you how to set up Proxy on uTorrent but first let’s see what are our requirements.

Go step-by-step through following instructions:

1. Open uTorrent.
2. Go to “Options” (1) and then to “Preferences” (2).

   

3. Go to “Connection” (3).

   In the “Proxy Server” section, for “Type” (4) choose HTTP or HTTPS (depending on the streaming sites you are using) or SOCKS5.

   In the “Proxy” field (5) enter the IP address of the proxy server you want to use and in the “Port” field (6) the port number. You can find them in your account on our website, by going to Settings.

   Important! Make sure you use only the P2P-enabled servers marked with ✓ in the “P2P” column from the list of available servers.

   Type your VPN username (7) and password (8). You can find them in your account on our website, by going to Settings. Make sure you use your VPN username and password and NOT the website account credentials (What is the difference?).

   Click on “OK” (9).

   

If you want to check whether it really works, here is what you have to do:

1. Go to this website and click on “Magnet link” (10).

   

2. A new window pops up. Choose uTorrent and click on “OK”.

   Important: do not close the ipMagnet website.

3. uTorrent will open automatically. Save the torrent file to your computer and click on “OK”.
4. The file “ipMagnet Tracking Link” (11) will start synchronizing.

   

5. While the file is connecting to peers, return to the ipMagnet website. In the “IP Adress(es) column (12) you should see the IP you entered in the “Proxy” field in uTorrent settings. That indicates uTorrent is downloading files through CactusVPN proxy.
