OpenVPN SSL certificate updated
We would like to inform you that we have updated the OpenVPN SSL certificate. This is a routine procedure in order to maintain the high security standards here at CactusVPN.
What it means for you
As a side effect, all of our users who connect to VPN using the OpenVPN protocol have to do some little updates.
CactusVPN app for Windows and macOS users
If you are using the CactusVPN app for Windows or macOS, simply restart the app. You have to do this only once.
OpenVPN manual connection users
If you create your OpenVPN connection manually, you have to replace the old certificate file with the new one. To do that, just follow this short tutorial:
- Go to Downloads page and scroll down to “Download OpenVPN Configuration Files”.
- Download the configuration files according to your plan and unzip the downloaded file.
- Copy all the files to OpenVPN config folder. You’ll find it in the folder where the OpenVPN was installed.
- You will be asked if you want to replace and delete the old file, click “Yes”. Now you can use the OpenVPN protocol again.
