How to block Google DNS addresses on TP-Link Router

  1. Log in to your TP-Link router and make sure you use our DNS addresses. If you they are different, please set them using this tutorial.
  2. Make sure that they are also set in PPPoE -> Advanced. If it is not active you should tick it.
  3. Find and note somewhere your IP address, you will need it later.
  4. Click on “Advanced Routing” from the left menu.
  5. Using “Add” button add a new configuration. Fill the fields with the following addresses:

    Destination: 8.8.8.8
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
    Gateway: Your IP Address (which you have noted down in step 3)
    Status: Enabled

  6. Click “Save”.
  7. You should repeat step 5 but this time with the following addresses.

    Destination: 8.8.4.4
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
    Gateway: Your IP Address (which you have noted down in step 3)
    Status: Enabled

  8. Click “Save”.
  9. Restart your router.

To verify if your settings are working ping 8.8.8.8 from any computer which is connected to your router.
If ping will fail then your settings are in effect.
